Feeling a bit hungry…

Sitting here thinking about cooking some dinner. This photo was taken by the gAdventurer in the beautiful Romdeng restaurant in Phnom Penh Cambodia. The great thing about the restaurant are the amazing staff who are former street children. If in Cambodia don’t miss a meal in one of the Tree Alliance restaurants.

I want to wake up in the desert…

This photo was taken by the gAdventurer as he got out of his Bedouin tent in Wadi Rum , Jordan in February 2012.

Wadi Rum where Bedouin and Arab traders have crossed for millennium and Lawrence or Arabia rallied his troops before his famous attack on Aqaba. A night with the bedouin can’t be missed on any visit to Jordan.

KGB prison and a visit to the dentist… Vilnius, Lithuania

Looking across at the Old Town of Vilnius, Lithuania the gAdventurer took this photo after the first snow fall of the winter at the end of October 2012.
Vilinus is a beautiful city in easy reach of London by Wizz Air and Ryan Air. Any visitor to the city should visit the KGB museum and prison in the cities old KGB HQ, before heading into the Old Town to enjoy hearty Lithuanian meal.
The gAdventurer also used the time in Vilnius to visit the dentist and left with a shiny white smile at a fraction of the cost in the UK.

Mind the gap

Saturday afternoon I spent some time visiting the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. This is an interesting couple of hours for Londoners and visitors alike. £13 entry for adults and £10 with concessions.

I’d rather be in Cuba

What an effort to get out of bed today! A quick look through my mobile photos to cheer me up and I came across this picture, the beach on Cayo Levisa in northern Cuba. This was a beautiful day back in April 2011. Cayo Levisa is reached by a short boat crossing in an area that was once the hunting ground of Ernest Hemingway. To be back on the white sandy beach drinking mojitos. I also remember an interesting chat with a barmen who’s main job was a doctor. Cuba is a beautiful country with wonderful people but well overdue for political and economic change.

Busy weekend in London…

A busy weekend for the gAdventurer in London. Starting with a lastminute.com meal deal with a 2 course meal at Tiger Tiger followed by the Boat Show Comedy Club. At £20 a head this was a good deal. I enjoyed the crab cakes followed by bangers and mash in Tiger Tiger, Haymarket. The comedians at the Boat Show Comedy Club onboard the Tattershall Castle, Embankment were average but made for a good night.

Saturday night was spent in Bar Prague- Shoreditch. Enjoying the European atmosphere and the selection of Czech beers. If you find yourself in up and coming Shoreditch enjoy some excellent beers in this great bar.

Memories from Guatemala

20121108-181429.jpg

Terrible news that at least 48 people have been killed in Guatemala after a 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit off the Pacific coast. This photo was taken by the gAdventurer overlooking the beautiful Lago de Atitlan during August 2012.
